Question Neogamma works but not USB Loader...

    Hi Guys,
I have a childs game called Peppa Pig for the Wii.
I have Wiikey 1.9s installed but generally I'm using the HBC with Universal USB Loader (v49) and loading form an external HDD.

If I use a backup of my daughters disk I get the 0001 unauthorized device detected error.

If I use the game through the Universal USB Loader (lets call it UUL going forwards ), I end up with a black screen although the wiimote does not disconnect.

I've tried running the game using various options, 222,223,249,250, force language / vidmode etc and always the same result.

So... I tried Neogamma and it worked off the bat no problem loading from my USB drive.

So I did some investigating, loaded the iso in to ISO Patcher and found it's using IOS53. I've checked and I have the latest version installed.
I went through Wiscrubber noting all IOS on the DVD and again, I have the latest version of all IOS's it's referencing.

I also tried using the ISO Patcher to swap the IOS used from 53 to 30 after reading around in a last ditch attempt to get it working still no joy.

I'm running with IOS249 v14 if that is relevant and I'm using 222/223 v4 if that's also pertinant.

Neogammma is great but has no box art and my 4 year old likes to crank up the Wii herself. She is fine navigating to ULL and finding the games from the images but will struggle to read the game name in Neogamma.

So, can anyone suggest what's stopping me using this game through ULL please ? (I've also tried GX Loader and Uloader with the same result).
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide,
    Neil

I know some versions of Neogamma have the 002fix permanently on. In GX your have to set it. Have you tried that.

your disk problem can be solved by using installing the cios rev14. if you have rev15 the dvd-rs will give you the 001 error. i know you say you have rev14 but i would reinstall it to be certain

    OK will try, tyvm.

    Thanks for the replies guys.

Earlier today I did use the IOS checker and another utility, list viewer or something similar, the name escapes me to confirm all my IOS versions and I'm definitely on r14

I'm also pretty sure the 002 fix was tried through Configurable USB Loader but I'll go back and try again, after all maybe the mix of IOS / patches I was trying tripped me up, I'll try 249 r14 with 002 fix

Again, thanks for taking time to reply, appreciated.

I have checked many variants of setup Configurable USB Loader (rev49) with fix 002 on, and off together with all IOS-es. I can confirm it does not work with Peppa.
Neogamma R7 works without problem, but it is not very good solution for me.

Ah I had explained but cut the waffle out my initial post... my young daughter is unable to read the game names and the Configurable USB Loader has cover art where Neogamma does not so Neogamma is a bit useless to her

As I'm new to all this and have an enquiring mind I'd like to understand why Neogamma works and USB Loader doesn't.
After all how do you learn unless you experiment, probably fail and ask around ?
Hopefully I'll be able to help others in future with my new found knowledge

i hope you do help others when you find the answers. lately i have been seeing alot of usbloader failure in the forum so it would be helpful. alot of folks i know use neogamma and wiiflow, but it seems the usbloader needs alot of trial and error to get working.

OK reinstalled 249 r14 no difference.
Checked the 002 fix option and again no difference.
Tried forcing video mode and language and basically every and evry option I can see, hmmm puzzling.
Might have to try my luck in a less "new person" friendly thread.
    Thanks again guys.
