Some backups loading, some aren't. Question for ya

Alrighty guys, I've been burning multiple copies of each game, this is what I have so far:

Legend of Zelda: 16x Nero (working this was the first one), 4x Nero (not working), 4x ImgBurn (working)

Super Paper Mario: 4x Nero (not working), 4x ImgBurn (working)

Mario Kart Wii: 4x ImgBurn (not working, but sound can be heard but there is no video)

Monopoly: 4x ImgBurn (not working, but sound can be heard but there is no video)

So far, it looks like my media might be too flimsy. I'm using Memorex DVD-R (heard it wasn't a good brand for teh Wii) and always burning at a 4x speed. I understand this might be the problem, but I would also like to know if there are any special cios I need to install (I'm still very new to this whole cios thing)?

I used Full hacking guide for 4.2 system menus!!!! and can run Zelda and Super Paper Mario just fine.

Hehe thanks, whenever I get new ones I'll make sure those are it. BTW, I forgot to mention, the working copies I have are NTSC I believe, and the non-working copies are PAL. This might be the problem...I tried forcing "NTSC 480i" and "PAL 480i" but no dice.

So is this a confirmation that PAL games DO NOT work on a NTSC softmoded 4.2u? If it, then patooey on me lol kinda obvious.

you will have to play around with those region settings. i use the neogamma and set region to wii and save settings, but some games may require vid patch or other things done on that region menu. it is always trial and error with that stuff. also media is an important factor but as i have often stated here, i use whatever is on sale and have never had any problems. biggest issues with burning are that you can't have much of anything running in the background on your pc or else it will fail to make an exact copy of the image, and you need to use a program that was specifically designed to handle burning and writing of disk images. imgburn works nicely, nero works for alot of ppl but again depending on the version it may load alot of unnecessary .dll files and things.
