Regardless as to which one, they are both written to your NAND so you do not need them in the apps folder anymore. Myself personally I use Preloader .30. It works fine for me for now, but the person who originally wrote the program no longer works on it so PriiLoader is the new one to take it's place. As of right now they use the same exact hacks as each other, but that could change as the program evolves into something else.

Taken from the PriiLoader page on WiiBrew: patch memory just like StartPatch or Preloader. hacks.ini should be on the sd root(only once, they get copied to NAND) and can be found here.

You can update later I think without too much problems right? If so I am just going to use Preloader 0.29 its in the package Dogeggs made for his guide and its really simple. It has all the hacks I need anyways.

3.1-4.1 Softmod Tutorial (Works on all wii's!)

    Wii 4.1u | Bootmii (IOS) | Priiloader 0.2 (Rev 32) | HBC 1.0.6 | Neogamma R8 Beta 7 and Neogamma RC3* | USB Loader GX REV 919

Press the Thanks button if I have helped you in any way!

To update you would just need to uninstall the existing preloader you have installed, then install the new preloader [the update function in preloader .29 doesn't work as it isn't under development anymore, and the update servers have been taken down]. And yes the package in dogeggs tutorial should have the hacks you need, if not like i said just make a new hacks.ini with the appropriate hacks.

Hey I did the first two steps just now but have to get back to work. Can I turn off the Wii or should I leave it on until I am completely done?

I installed Bootmii and Homebrew. It's now on the homebrew channel....

hoping for a quick reply here as I need to get running!

You can shut down and return when you are ready. As long as nothing is installing when you turn it off, everything will be fine when you return.

Thanks. Ok back home and going now. Sorry for questions but I want to do this right. I am trying to load bootmii now. You said in the step if I put the SD card in it will boot automatically if I installed it as boot2, which I did with no problems. However it didn't load when I put in the card and when I go to the homebrew channel I do not see it any where.

In homebrew I see, CIOS, firmware updater to 4.1, preloader, Trucha & WAD installer....

EDIT: Nvrmind I restarted and now I see it!

you never prepared the SD card appropriately. If you run the BootMii installer again you will see the option to "prepare SD card" that will put the folder [bootmii] and the files it needs to boot inside [bootmii.ini armboot.bin and ppcboot.elf]. If you do not wish or do not know exactly how to prepare the SD card within the installer, let me know and I will be more than happy to upload the files you need.

While this backup is running I have a question. I plan to go the usbloader route to play backups. Is there a certain kind of backup I need to go this route? I'm very new to wii modding so learning as I go.

I see d/l with USA, PAL, reg.ios.truncha, etc and I have no idea which one I need.

    thanks

Any backup will do [patched backups are usually because of the new BCA protected games (ie NSMB and Avatar)], also unless you want a smaller download, scrubbed games mean nothing if your loading through USB as WBFS Manager scrubs the image for you. You can even rip your own backups straight from a retail disc. You can find all the information you need for USB Loading from these links:

You will also need to make sure you purchase a USB HDD thats compatible, you can find the list here:

Sour, just want to say thanks man. You've been a big help and I'm sure you get this alot so thanks for the pactience you've had here. I'll read up on that stuff shortly...just finishing up the wii mod still.

Is the NAND backup the nand.bin file? About to move that and delete the bootmii folder after I back up on PC.
