    Dvd read error 1053

hi all,I have a 4.1U wii which I softmoded following Doeggs tutorial.Everthing was fine. I am able to play games from external hard disk using USB loader gx. But when I trying to play games from DVD's Neogamma is giving me an error message "DVD READ ERROR 1053".
the DVD's are working fine on my friends wii. so there is nothing wrong ith the DVD's.
Can you please tell how do I fix this error?

I had the same issue as you 2. Check this thread for the replies I received.

USB based loaders work fine, but disc always show the 1053 error. All signs seem to point to the D3-2 disc drive that will not read DVD-Rs. If you find a cure for this error, PLEASE PM me, as everything I've tried has failed

I've been able to use a 16GB thumb drive and load about 10 games onto it and it works 100%. I've purchased an external HD for the sole purpose of filling with Wii games, but have yet to test it.

Anything sandisk works. My sd card is sandisk, my 4gb usb flash is sandisk, both work perfect. Sandisk has a usb HDD.

The only way to tell for sure is to tear apart the unit and physically look. If you are able to load a game through USB and not through a disc, chances are that it is that drive.
