    Unhappy dvd read error 1053

Hi all I'm having the same dvd read error 1053
When I tried to open original wii sports game with neo gamma it plays fine.
But it's giving me dvd read error 1053 when I used copied dvd-r.

Please post if you have a fix to this.
    Thanks in advance.

Could be a D3-2 drive. Check your Wii serial against Wii Drive Chip Database
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

Same thing is going on with my Wii, Disk error. Funny thing this is a Wii that is 3 yrs old runing 4.1u.... ? - The drive lists as gc2. The Wii was modded before with wii key2 & played the same discs I am using fine (tdk -r) Should I try the verb discs as well to test ?

    Thnks!

i don't know but the typical causes are: the new chip as tealc mentioned, bad media, junky disks or dirty ones, and a dirty lens especially if you smoke alot in front of the wii.

What brand of DVD-R did you use? I used 4 brands. Memorex and sony did not work. Hp sometimes work, but every one verbatim that I used all worked.

guys i just went out to best buy and bought the silver Seagate FreeAgent GO 320gb for $80 and i used gen3sf's guide
    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...s-usb-hdd.html

this is the only choice for people with the d3-2 drive atm i think

i just played super mario galaxy and super paper mario perfectly fine

make sure if u buy the seagate drive that u turn off the sleep mode by using the software on the hard drive or else games will crash
