    noob question

So I was about to install USB Loader GX and when I selected the .wad I also had to specify what IOS to install it to. I have been following tutorials very closely and they always told me which number to install it to, but I can't find where to install the USB Loader to even after searching for it on the forums. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I was scared to do the default (249) because I thought I remembered reading somewhere not to do anything over 200, but maybe thats just my imagination.
    Thanks in advance.

Swing and a miss. You're not supposed to do anything with ios's UNDER 200. 249 is what homebrew runs off of. Install to there and you'll be fine. (Also since you were half right about messing with certian ios's you get credit for actually READING and TRYING. Some people just want a silver platter answer.)

I realized after I posted that sometimes an ios will need to be updated. The rule of thumb is actually never DELETE any ios under 200 and never mess with any ios your system menu runs off off. I know 4.1 runs off of ios60 for example. You'll see things all the time telling people to update their ios, and a missing ios or an outdated ios is usually the cause of getting a black screen when trying to launch a game. Just thought I'd clarify that for you.
