    Removing regions from iso's

Not really sure where to post this topic, but since I'm a noob, why not the newbie center
Is there a tool (or tools) that can remove the region from wii iso's? I've found several options to change from NTSC to PAL or visa versa, but I want to remove the actual region making the iso itself region free.

I don't think that is possible, the Wii needs to know which region PAL NTSC-u or NTSC-j to play, without this information games would not boot.

Use priiloader settings to allow your Wii to play games from other regions, that would be your best option.

Also, my friend has tested this and said it worked for him... I don't know if this completely eliminates the region on the ISO, but hey, it's worth a try. Let me know how it goes. If it fails, take siphillips' advice and use Priiloader's settings (or Preloader, whichever you have installed).

Hi kensai, sorry your link is dead, it looks like Regionfrii an I right? If so that only changes the region settings to the ones I mentioned above, I think the user wanted to remove region information completely, thanks for the input though!

Hmmn like I said, I never tested it, my friend did XD So I had no idea what it did, just followed the name of the program lol Dang misleading titles >_> I'm surprised the link is dead, I only downloaded it two days ago for my mate... Weird... All links I have recently seem to be dying, lucky I keep everything lol Anyway, as you said, priiloader's settings should work fine.

Thanks for the replies so far, but I'm still hoping for that other answer From my point of view, we can manipulate regions already. On iso's we can change from one to the other. On wad files we can change AND remove them even. So why not be able to remove regions on iso's as well? I thought third party developers could opt to either region code their games or not. (where nintendo games are all region coded by default?) Anyway, if region code is something that can be added.........well, what can be added can be removed imo.

I know the PS3 is a console where the developers can choose for themselves whether or not to code the games, but i'm unsure about the Wii due to the Wii's own "Wii Optical Disc" format, different from most other media. Good luck finding the answer you seek : )
