Arrow Newbie here. so far so good. few questions...

Hello everyone. GREAT SITE! this is my first post. i bought a wii today. i read and read tuts and watched youtube vids and i got my wii modded.

i also managed to get a 200gb usb hdd working. used wbfs manager 3.0 to put some iso's on the hdd. everything went fine.

i just put the homebrew browser on my sd card and installed it. im getting some emulators now.

so i guess my questions really have to do with the usb hdd. is there a way to have the homebrew browser save downloads to the usb hdd? and will they launch from it?
also, ive seen downloads that contain wad files. can they run off the hdd?

sorry if this has been asked a million times. i honestly have been searching. i just need a good, up to date answer.

    thanks!

not at least with a wbfs file system. i know certain apps can load things from a usb source but i'm pretty sure you need a partiton on it that is fat32

    thanks for the reply!

i read something about splitting the hdd. the first partition being wbfs, like for wii iso's. and then having a second partition as fat. so because its fat, like a sd card, i guess it would work for wads and emulators/roms???

i just got done downloading stuff from the homebrew browser, for the first time. fun! and everything is such a small file size, ill just make it easy on myself and use a sd card

ok well i guess thats it for now. thanks again.

i would set up your emulators on the sd card, format a partition on the harddrive about 40-50 gig as fat32. then put all your games (roms) there on that harddrive. there are other things you'll find to use the space for in time like movies or who knows.

thanks again for your help. i will consider that in the future. i have another question, totally different.
is it safe to download game content? example: new tracks for guitar hero/rockband? i own both, but would it affect my modded wii? does it make a difference if im playing the retail disc or a backup off the hdd, as far as dlc goes?
thanks for any help with this one.
