    Error #001 with no modchip

Just a quick one that I am hoping somsone might be able to solve.

I have been successfully using Cios 15 and NG R6rev15 to play most of my games up until some didnt work and moved to higher versions of NG

Once I got NSMB I had no end of trouble getting it to work from disc and in my frustration I am sure I installed ISO53-64-v5406 and temporarily a higher NG version to see if it would help.

I eventually got it going via configurable USB loader but I have discovered to my dismay that every game i have on disc now causes error 001 unauthorised device detected, regardless of NG version I am using and regardless of settings I use. I had a look at the tutorials area and #001 seems to only have explanations regarding modchips

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am unable to get a large enough USB hard drive to run all my games from at the moment.

it is the cios rev 15. i had the same thing. you can either start using dvd+r disks and booktype them to dvd-rom, or install the rev 14 and let it overwrite the rev15. i went back to rev14 and all is good.

Ok I will give that a go. The last thing I remember doing prior to getting NSMB to work was Rabbids go home, and I don't recall if I installed 15 as part of making it work. Oh well cant hurt to try. I wasn't aware I could just overwrite a revion with an earlier one.

Yep, that worked perfectly, you are a life saver man.

    Thanks so much for that.

So is there any real reason to have cios r15 on or should i wait for the next one?

it was my understanding that rev15 wasn't completely finished, and someone leaked it before it was to be officially released. so it has bugs and they need worked out. just stay in touch with the scene and you'll get the news when it is safe to use.
