boot2 = 2 flashes from the blue led drive light at boot with disk removed
preloader= hold reset and boot, it would load

If those are negative you need a gamecube controller, then hold down all four directions at once and boot wii.

Well if your able to start the hombrew channel, you could follow one of the guides and upgrade your firmware. You would basically lose your softmods that you had up to this point, but you would have your wii back.

Ya that's the thing. I cant get anything but a black screen after the health screen. I wouldnt care if I had to start all over with the hombrew channel. I tried loading a game and I just can't get passed that first screen. even just loading a original disk won't launch anything. But wii has to be there. because of the first screen that comes up. Man This sucks!!!
    Thanks everybody..

Keep trying savemiifrii. if you are getting to the health screen savemiifrii should work. If your controller is genuine nintendo, you may need to dissemble it, so you can press all four directionals at once. Keep trying.

Mauifrog the gamecube controller doesn't even have normal screws to take it apart. I have it in port # 1 and I'm pressing the + like my life depends on it and the A screen just keeps flashing. I'll try to get that controller apart ....

I honestly wouldnt even bother. You have a full brick and without preloader, bootmii or any other program that can start up before that health menu screen shows up, theres really nothing you can do.

Those are triwing screws, you can buy a driver online for about $10, but you can but a set of jewelers drives for about a buck or 2. You should be able to use a small Flathead to remove them. Or you can go out to your local game store and buy a very cheap generic version, which would not have the pin and should work without modification- about $20.

I can not make you any promises, but you should be able to recover this. You may have to buy a modchip to do it. You can test it, if you get savemiifrii to load, try to boot a legal original copy of indiana jones, or ntsc ssbb, and any other legal games you have. None may work, in which case you need a modchip, or they may boot and you could get lucky. Just depends on how much your time is worth.

If you buy a modchip, any compatible chip with your wii will do, however your seller needs to preconfigure it to autoboot disks, and region free disks. Also it must be compatable with your wii.

Also there is a chance this won't work.

I agree with you that it can be fixed by popping in a modchip. But I wasnt sure if thats the route he wanted to take. I do know though that if you send it back to nintendo and they see the brick was due to modifications, your going to pay a ton to get it fixed. basically as much as what a new wii would cost.

Thanks Jason and mauifrog. I'll try it. But I was just looking on kijiji and I seen a few for sale for 140.00. Maybe My best bet would be to pick up one of those. after seeing it work first.!. I haven't see anybody around here offer modchips anymore. I bought a few games for the kids for Christmas so I have to fix this soon...lol

Thanks again. You guys make this site worth coming to for help..Darryl
