I did something very stupid.. ><

Okay so as the titel states, I'm very much aware that I did something stupid and that I should have done more research etc etc, but I'm really stuck and I dont know what to do
First of all I didnt get the softmod guide from this website but from gbatemp (a friend offfered it to me as a good guide). I already asked for help there but noone is replying, so I really hope someone will be able to help me here..
This is step by step basically what I've been doing:

I have a black Wii with version 4.2E on it.
(Came in at 4.1 but i system upgrated to 4.2)
I decided to use the guide to softmod a Wii ([Guide] Fully Softmod Any Wii (everything you need) - GBAtemp.net)

I started at the "Getting Homebrew and Bootmii" section.
This all went well, and homebrew was installed.

Then i went to "Installing PreLoader and cIOS38".
This didnt work because IOS36 needed patching.
So I went to that section.

When I run TBR (TruchaBugRestorer) v1.0 and followed the instruction, at the end i got an error.
The program told me I probably needed a newer version of TBR.
I got the latest version TBR v1.1 and put that on the SD card the same way as instructed on the 1.0 version.
This all went well and I got to complete the program.

Then I went to install PreLoader. This went successfully, and I got a menu.
But when I tried to load HBC from there it gave an error:
"Error autobooting HBC. maybe title not installed?"

So I tried Systemmenu. and I got a wierd looking screen, so I had to reset.
Then I got back into the same PreLoader menu, and I went to Installed File.
This brought me back to the Hackmii installer.I choose the "Install Homebrew Channel" option.
Then I exited. And I came back to the HBC.

Since I wasnt done with all the steps I tried to install cIOS38_rev14
When I run this it gave an error and said I needed latest version, so I got version 15.
When I tried to install here (via network) the downloading went well, the adding contents went well,
but the installing of custom IOS gave the following error:
    Instal ERROR! (ret = -1035)

So basically the main problem is that I still cant launch the Wii menu (and therefor not able to play any games), I am able however to come back to HBC.
So I have no idea where to go from here...
Any help would be very much appreciated!

So you followed a guide on gbatemp and decide the best place to ask about problems it has given you is Wiihacks?

    Doesn't make sense.

I don't know much about the guide on gbatemp but maybe compare to ours and see what's misisng yourself. http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...tem-menus.html

I for one don't have to time to review a tutorial on another site.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

Can you describe this wired looking screen a little better? Is it an error?

Run the cios38-rev14 installer again, and be sure to select ios36.

The error screen I get is disformed, but it says something like:
System file corrupted, see instruction manual for troubleshooting.
I have selected IOS36, but it still doesnt work

Use Pimp my Wii 3.1. That's what I did. Worked like a charm.

I know, I read that, but if you don't install cios38, you are dead in the water and wont be able to fix your system menu. So we must try try again until we find that it work. If you are getting error 1035 then your attempt at tbr must have failed on ios 36.

You can try to run it from bootmii to work around ios36, or you need to run tbr again to fix ios36.

You said you could work your way into hbc. Load the hackmii installer from preloader, select hbc, then exit the installer- it should take you to the hbc. Then do part B and part C from the 4.2 guide linked below.

Also there is no need to run pimp your wii.

Why not, Pimp my Wii fixes all Trucha Bug issues and all custom IOS and even downgrades. It also loads the latest system menu without all that mumbo jumbo and lingo. It was easy to do. Just a few steps.
