    Virgin wii,probably 3.2 going to softmod Shall i update it first?

    i put the hbc on my 4.2 wii (wiikey installed) the other day and my brother liked the look of it, so he asked me too put it on his. its a virgin wii probably with 3.2, Shall i update it to 4.2 and install exactly the same as mine????

    if you want it to be the same as yours yes. but the 4.2 is a little harder to mod than the system menus below that and just being 4.2 doesn't make it any better for you. you can do pretty much the same things on a 3.2 with a few exceptions. if you want to update, 4.1 is a good choice. the 3.1-4.1 softmod guide is not only easier to use, but has a step in it that has an optional update procedure. why don't you have a look at that guide before you decide.

    ok thanks, i was just worried his kids would update the wii accidentally, and does that delete the HBC???

    now that maybe an issue to consider. if it is highly likely they will update the wii. it maybe better to go ahead and update to 4.2 first. there are a few things that can help. installing preloader to prevent update from disks, turning off wii connect24, and setting the parental controls so that someone has to enter a code to change settings.
