I'm disappointed, many games freeze

Hello guys,

I really get benefit from this forum, it is a very good reference, specially for new guys like me. I mainly get most of "Full hacking guide for 4.2 system menus!!!! "

But here is my problem:

most of my games are freezing during game play (either though uloader or usbloader or even dvd's)

I did exactly as mentioned in the previous thread, and also installed:
IOS202-v4.wad
IOS222-v4.wad
IOS223-v4.wad

Then when starting a game either enforcing it to PAL or NTSC, it hangs after 3 or 5 mins of play
Games:
- SUper Mario Galaxy (PAL)
- TMNT (PAL)
- Sega super star tennis
- Ben 10
- ICE AGE 3

and my wii is 4.2U

Anyone can advice ???


N.B. silly question: if my wii is 4.2U and the game is PAL, should I WiU.1 to make it NTSC or from uloader I force PAL50 or force NTSC?

Games freezing during play while loading from a usb drive usually suggests that the drive is spinning down and going to sleep. It probably happens during parts of the game that require little to no disk reads, and to much time goes by and the drive spines down. Unfortunately the wii is unable to spin the drive up and the game crashes. If it is a portable drive there is usually a utility provided by the manufacture that will adjust the spin down settings. For the wii having the spin-down disable is usually best, or you can experiment with a higher time limit. You can test this by installing a problematic game to a usb thumb drive and testing it. Since usb flash drives don't spin down the game should play flawlessly if spin-down is your issue.

You Force to your Wii's region. To play a PAL game, FORCE NTSC.

Freezing of games played from the USB drive might be the energy saving mode of some USB HDDs. Check to see if your HDD has a power down/emergy saving or sleep mode and if changeable using a utility disc then do so. Or set the sleep time to as long as possible before sleep.

I'll try the forcing to NTSC then, but when trying it with Ben10, it gives a green screen before loading and freezed, but worked good with Mario for example...it seems to be crazy...but this is the fact :(
But for the HD, it is internal HD, and I've got a connector to connect it to USB, so there in no sleep mode. moreover, it sometimes freeze during loading a part of a game..so it isn't sleepy at all
Any idea, what to choose: cios222, cios223, cios249, or skip ios? may be it is an issue?

forcing my region has not worked for me in many cases, while forcing game's region would do the trick. key to that is thatmy tv supports both regions tho.

It is exactly the internal HDDs that are more likely to have the energy saving mode-especially an internal laptop drive. The Wii does not send the same activity signal to the HDD to keep its activity level up and so the drive will poweer down to save energy thinking it is not being used. While some external USB HDDs have this function, all the internal HDD have it - part of the energy saving initiative.

So, is there any solution to avoid that?
and again..it is hanging during loading, doesn't that mean it is not in power saving mode?

In Uloader, what to choose: cios222, cios223, cios249, or skip ios? may be it is an issue?

cIOS 249 works for me,and should be fine for you as well. If you have installed Hermes222 then you can choose that.

I've installed Hermes222 and 223, and don't know what cios to use. My question, is choosing any cios in uLoader the same, or we should use different cios for different games?
