    Us dvdx does not work

Hi, I'm a fresh newcomer to the Wii Homebrew scene. I was able to Bannerbomb my 4.2 unit successfully, and even told it to install dvdx. This is where my problem lies.

HackMii claims that dvdx installed successfully.

However, it does not work, after trying to use it with something that would use it, such as the many mplayers, or FTPii.

I do so much want dvdx to work, the uses of such a tool would be extremely useful.

Any ideas on why dvdx, despite "installing properly" is not working?

Motivation alone is not enough. If you have an idiot and you motivate him, now you have a motivated idiot.

Before giving up, make sure you check out the latest version of MPlayer CE. I believe it is version 0.76; not all the Mplayers have been updated to adapt to the HBC's new Title ID.

Oh no, I'm not giving up. But last time I tried MPlayer CE it also failed to recognize any DVDs put in there, which comes back to dvdx not working and me wanting to know why and how to fix it.

Well you can look for a wii serial look up thing. It tells you what board is in your wii.

I took a look at http://www.wiidrives.com/ and entered my serial. And it says:

"There is a 100% chance the chipset is GC2-D2E."

I think Ican safely say I don't have the anti-mod D3-2 drive. Besides, weren't the D3-2s NOT released in the US?
