    Re: Messie 4.2 Full Hack

    Hi all,

    Now i know i am new and i have posted quite a few posts on this matter, well i have started it from scratch once again. And so far i have got to step (D1) in the Messie full hack guide. All up to this point is successful fingers crossed, If i could quote messie's step D1 here;

D1)Remember the first pack I gave you? Place the "apps" and "wad" folder of that in the root of the SD card (The first rar ok? delete all the others from SD)

D2)Place the SD in wii and boot up, go to HBC.

    D3)Now:
-For DVD launching, go to NeoGamma r7 (if you get a black screen on this one, you have not done B or C correctly. Try running them again)
-For USB launching, go to USB loader GX

Its the D1 part i am unsure about ? Does he mean when refering to the first pack i gave you...to be the one at the beggining of the steps to install the HBC, if so fine i will do this, next he says to PLACE THE APPS & WAD folder of that in the root of the SD Card ok i get that. Then he says to DELETE all the others. Would i be right in thinking that the only folders left on the SD Card will be the apps & wad If i have this right then please confirm yes/no

    Thanks once again
    Alan

I feel like it is gonna work this time as atempts before this just didn't get to point D1 of the procedure so i am crossing my fingers here

D1 is just for getting backup loaders working.
Yes you should just have SD\apps and SD\wad

Launch Neogamma from HBC for DVD
Launch GX from HBC for USB

    Re: 4.2 Hack

    Hi all,

Big thanks to WiiJohn for your swift reply to my post. Can i say a very big thank you to all who have helped me to get my wii to be able to play backups. I can now play all backups no problem at all thanks to you guys out there. I have also been told that i can use an external HDD to put all the dvd backups onto this rather than have loads of disks(DVD) that can get scratched and render them useless. If so can you point me in the right direction please to get this working, or would you suggest that i just carry on using dvd's and just take care of them, your professional advice is welcome on this issue

Once again a huge thank you for getting me this far thanks very much indeed guys

    Best Regards
    Alan

I'm glad things are working out for you.
Here is a guide to USB loaders, http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-gu...s-usb-hdd.html
I use USB Loader GX, but neogamma and such are jsut as good.

Before you choose a HDD check the conpatability list, WD passport are well used.

    Re: HDD Make/Model

    HI WiiJohn,

Thanks for replying, so glad i got the wii working . I already have a 500GB Seagate External HDD, is it a lot of hassle to do ??? If so i will just stick with using DVD's. The HDD is brand new in the box never been opened. Bought it last week

    Regards

    Alan

Check the link I gave you for compatability, but if you alread have it plug it in. Its pretty straight forward, follow that guide, it covers, WBFS manager, and formating your drive.

I am using a 500GB seagate external HDD, but it was one I assembled, not a prebuilt enclosure, but I doubt there would be any issues.

As far as pre-built enclosures, it's more so the enclosure that needs to be compatible, not the drive that you put in it.

That compatibility list will also include enclosures, so either way a little research goes a long way.
