Question How to playing Wiiware/VC from HDD

Hi! I have been wondering for awhile if it is possible to play Wiiware/VC from an HD, so I started looking around this forum's tutorials and everything. From what I can understand, Triiforce MRC seems to be the way to go. Every guide/comment on the subject that I can find lists a few must-haves:
    1. cIOS rev14 already installed
    2. Triiforce
    3. SimpleFSDumper
    4. wadtonand
    5. A SD card or USB HDD

I have the HDD, and I can get Triiforce (I'm guessing it's a program that I can put on the SD card just like the SimpleFSDumper and wadtonand to run/install). However, I have no idea what cIOS rev14 is though I keep hearing it from all over the place. I have a softmod wii running on 4.1 firmware with a partitioned NTFS, WBFS manger formated 100G HD with the latest USB Loader GX.

Can anyone help me to get this to work? I'm a total newbie, so you might need to explain every little thing. *blush* sorry.

http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...s-sd-card.html other than reading the guide and doing what it says to do, I don't know what else you want us to do. We can't exactly do it for you.

I actually did run across that guide and did read it in detail. However, it says to use an SD card to load and keep the games. Does this mean that if I want to use an HDD, it would be the same list of steps but just subsitute the SD card with the HDD? I'm really new at this and alot of the guides and forums warns against doing something without full knowledge unless I want to brick my wii (something I want to avoid at all cost). So, has anyone gotten the Triiforce MRC to work using an HDD with the same method as the SD card?

I do not belive Triforce can use a HDD yet, I could be totally wrong though. but as far as I know VC/WiiWare games must be run off of a SD card or the Wii Memory.

At any rate, all the VC/WiiWare games out there would only take up about 15gb (give or take) [and that includes every region as well, only about 8gb if only USA] so if you have system menu 4.0 or higher you can use a 32gb card, and have all the VC/WiiWare games you could ever want.

Triiforce can run vc/wiiware from an HDD when you start tiiforce_mrc and select SD Nand USB Nand and real Nand as options.

Do you happen to have this running on your system? Or know someone that has used this method and succeeded? And in order to install this on my wii, do I use the same method as that SD card guide that s0ur mentioned?

Edit: And just what is cIOS rev14? And how do I find out if I already have it on my system or not since my wii has HBC and everything? I have looked everywhere for this, but every one just kinds assumed that knowledge of what cIOS rev14 is constitutes basic knowledge (which it probably is...).

I think you are in the wrong thread. You might want to start another thread to ask about your specific problem. And I would recommend reading all the wonderful guides on this forum. They should help you a great deal. Look in the softmod/HBC sections, also I suggest just reading everything in the newbie section.

DO NOT start another thread somewhere else when this one has already been started, thats a HUGE NO NO! Double posting is frowned upon around here.

But it's not double posting when what jmo420eg is asking about is a totally different issue than the one I started the thread for, isn't? I'm still really new at this, so I could be wrong...
