An iso is a disc image. Basically this is just a file version of a disc. You can use an iso to either burn a disc copy of a game, or put the iso onto a usb device like an external hard drive, or a thumb drive. If you want to play games from a usb device using usbloaderGX there is a program called WBFS Manager that you will use to format your usb device and put those iso's onto it. After that it's as simple as starting usbloaderGX and playing them from usb. Check out the guide in my signature that goes into more details on usb loading and backing up. Good luck!

Did you put the isos on your drive using the manager? Don't just drag and drop them. You might find the usb loading guide in my sig helpful

DVDx allows the console to see burnt discs.

Your problem with BootMii is because you never prepared your SD card for the BootMii files. In the BootMii installer there is an option to "prepare SD card", you can do this without it deleting any files from your SD. This will put a folder called bootmii with 3 files inside [ppcboot.elf, bootmii.ini and the third is armboot.bin].
