hi there sOur and thank you for your reply. have you by any chance read my posts on what my problem is with my wii. no-one, even the senior members (no disrespect intended) have a clue how to fix this. there seems to be fix for every problem except mine. (does that sound like im feeling sorry for myself lol.)

    many thanks

It seems like the SD card your using is not the proper one. SanDisks are the preferred media, 2gb NON-SDHC has the best success rate. Also they must be formatted as FAT32 and most micro SDs with an SD adaptor do not work for the mod process, but can be used afterwords. As stated before, the bannerbomb exploit, as well as other mods, are very fussy with SD cards. Other than that, until you get an SD card to work, there is no way to get any mods or programs installed onto the Wii.

ok. the sd cards ive tried are 2g micro sandisc - 4g sdhc sandisk - 2g memorex sd - 1g tevion photo sd.

so obviously none of the above are suitable for my wii. can different wii's be a bit fussy because the 1g tevion works fine in my sons wii

It's totally possible, different Wiis can have different hardware in them, which could allow the use of some and not others. But 2gb non-SDHC Sandisk cards have the best success rate, and they are like 10 bucks now-a-days. So you might have to bite the bullet and purchase a new card.

Could be the simple fact of the SD slot on your Wii being fried

Are you positive it's been formatted as FAT32?

You can try using THIS! toold to make sure it's formatted properly, just scroll to the bottom of the page for the download link.
