Anyhow I have softmodded the wii using the guides on this site and now none of the backups that used to run, work?

Do you think that they replaced the DVD drive or is it the chipset that prevents the wii from playing backups?
New Wiis this year have D3-2 chip, its this chip that prevents playing backups.
You can check the serial number against the data base, but the only real way of knowing for sure is to open it up.

Can anyone confirm that even with the new D3-2 chipset that the USBLoaders still work?

Yes I can confirm with a D3-2 chip USB Loaders work, and all other mods,
    except loading backup DVD's.

Okay so from what Im reading .. My LU72 (which I ran threw the database and got

Your drive most likely has the following chipset:

    * There is a 100% chance the chipset is GC2-D3-2 (v2) with no drive chip.)

Will not play burnt backups via DVDR ... But Will Play Thru USB loader ...
sorry if this is a repeat question .. Kinda a newbie to the whole Wii modding scene ..

I have followed the guide to the letter perfect on ever install .. but with this new Wii .. just not playing backups..

It says there is 100% chance your chip is D3-2, so you won't be able to play DVD backups.
    Am I missing something here.
