The error means you could have a D3-2 chip, or a bad DVD burn.
Here is a guide to usb loaders

    Best DVD's are Verbatim DVD-R.

Switch DVD-r like wiijohn said USE verbatim DVD-R . If you burn a game from different region at worst will it play but black and white.

You must remove the region or change it to your region or have protection in loader or priiloader.

    PAUL? Do you mean PAL?

No it's not because of cross region.

    It's not the download.

It's you and your lack of search that is fail. 002 error is incredibly common with newer games. Look in the Tutorials section for Error Index.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

Hi guys, I think I'm having the same problem. Well, actually I have the same problem. When I try to play a disc using Neogamma r8 beta 7 I get error 1053, and when I try usign neogamma r8 beta 1 I get error 1020. I checked the serial number on the Wii drive chip data base and this is what I got.

Your drive most likely has the following chipset:

•There is a 75% chance the chipset is GC2-D3-2 (v2) with no drive chip.
    •And there is also a 25% chance the chipset is GC2-D2C (v1).

So this means I can onle play games from a USB or an SD card right? Your help is much appreciated, thanks in advance.

BTW, the serial number is LU72 and it has 4.1 firmware

The only absolute way of knowing is to open the Wii up.
You could try a disc that works on someone else's Wii.

Well my original wii brought in 2007 was bricked by the 4.2 update. However nintendo repaired it free of charge. I belive they changed the mainboard and it was shipped back with a different serial number and the firmware was 3.2 E.

Anyhow I have softmodded the wii using the guides on this site and now none of the backups that used to run, work?

Do you think that they replaced the DVD drive or is it the chipset that prevents the wii from playing backups?
