i believe all my ports are 2.0 and i know the drive said it was 2.0.

I'm kind of hoping that maybe the seagate is just not compatible but a simple exchange to the western digital will solve the problem because they were the same price and I can run up there today and exchange it.

It would be a shame if i can't get this to work as nice as the flash drive worked. I really like the USB Loader GX interface.

I think I will buy a usb extender cable as well so I don't have to keep unpluggin the drive from power.

I know it is good to do a safe disconecct when pullin out the usb cord, but how would we do a safe disconnect from the wii?

Just switch off the wii with the wiimote, hard drive will shut down when wii shuts down. Then its safe to remove.
I hope you are just having usb problems as I have just purchased 3 seagate drives

I'm leaning towards just going and buying the 1tb Western Digital and returning the Seagate. The Seagate looked great and I thought it would work but if people already are saying that doesn't even work with the USB Loader Gx and WD does than I guess I have a no brainer.

I hope the Western Digital runs faster as well because I found the Seagate to be veryyyyyy slow doing even regular file transfers of media.

I guess if none of them end up working I'll have to just keep the games downloaded on my computer and load invidual ISO's to my flash drive to play them but that seems weak

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!!

thanks for all the help guys, I exchanged my Seagate for the Western Digital 1TB last night and it worked perfectly!!!!!!! I partitioned 350GB for the wii and then the rest as NTFS. i love the way this drive looks and runs too, it even has a power button unlike the seagate.
I selected to display my games as a carousel in USB Loader GX and its the best thing ever, I can't wait to get off work and sit on my @$$ and play wii all night, woot woottt

I noticed after I installed homebrew and everything with the 4.2 guide that i was left with a couple apps like cios 2147902135 and cios mod or some things like that, basically just weird sounding apps. I know they have something to do with loading different cios's or somethin but how important are these??? can i delete them off my app screen???
and is the wad manager one the thing i use to create channels or somethin? how does that work???? let me know anything else cool i can do
