    Question Waninkoko's backup-creator disc-to usb loader gx???

    Hello!!

I have been using "Wii Backup Creator: based on waninkoko's backup-creator.exe file called bc-gui.exe" to patch all of my wii iso files before burning them and they all play flawlessly on Neogamma.

I just upgraded to a 750gb WD external drive so i am in the process of moving all of my old iso images (that were ran through the backup creator)onto that to do away with discs all together.....then i ran into a problem i am hoping that someone can help me with.

If i download a fresh wii iso image and use WBFS manager to transfer, it transfers the image fine. If i use the converted iso images i ran through the "backup-creator gui version the game name looks like this (it was "Deal Or No Deal (NTSC)")

    V]˜Gs&”q<š4 p-*X„›g|M
    xdؾij{,A
    –nrK Qĩ}M
    Y–™„ {d1’–€42N?ŠC@_JӯM5d)~
    b3r00ϥ*›bG)œ/Sfm„**‡‚‘기^˜WB߲@#fof(4—*M

and the image size is....3.99gb when all other fresh iso files are....4.38gb.

WBFS manager doesnt recognize it as a wii disk image, and neither does usb loader gx. When i try to rip the disc burned iso image with usb loader gx it says "this is not a wii disc".

What i am wondering....is there a way to reverse what "backup-creator gui version" has done to the iso image? I wasn't sure who to ask, so i figured someone on here might know how to do it, or maybe have an idea of who would know how to revert the image back to the way it was prior to using the backup creator program. Maybe there is a patch program out there that can put back the files that the backup creator took off. I tried to use one of the good iso files to explore what was on the disc and use a bad iso image and explore it to compare and see what the differences are but i can't open them with my pc to take a look.

I have around 50 of these images that i would really love to have on my hdd.....but i'm not sure what the problem is exactly.

I would put the bad iso image on megaupload and send the link to it but im pretty sure thats against the rules.

    Any ideas????

I really find it hard to believe that not one person on this forum has experianced this dillema......

If anyone knows anything at all please speak up. There are some crazy gifted Wii folks on here, and this seems pretty straight forward. If i didn't explain it well enough please ask me a question and i will try my best to respond as clearly as i can.

    Thanks.

well your talking about an app you used that i could find very little information about let alone the reversal of the application. most ppl here are able to either burn the iso's or put them onto the usb device without the use of anything more. in the rare instanses they do need patching they have specific patches and tutorials for them. i don't think many here knowledgable about this particular app. i could be wrong but then someone would have given you some info by know.

    Thanks for the reply.

When i first started playing backups i used the twilight hack (which i now know is pointless) and i read a bunch of things about playing backup games and somewhere along the lines that app came up to use before burning the iso. I did, and it worked....so as long as it worked i didn't doubt it, or look for another way. If it ain't broke don't fix it, but needless to say now with the usb loader it poses a problem.

    Thanks again!!

yea i wish i knew but it seems that app removes some information from the iso file that is needed for wbfs manager to handle it. i looked around but didnt see a way of reversing the process. don't give up someone may know but it is not common knowledge here in this community.

i wished that i could find out how to open up the wii iso file, then i would just open them both up and take a look myself and compare. it might be as simple as adding a couple of files that the patched iso is missing.

i can usually use winrar and right click on the iso and extract here and all of the contents will be there for me to do with them what i want, but for some reason winrar wont extract either iso file. neither will magic iso. i haven't tried 7z yet, but i wonder why i can't extract a wii iso?

You know of a program that can do that?

the closest thing i can think of is wiiscrubber. it will open the iso file and allow you to look inside at the data.

thats what i thought too, so i tried that and an original will show the data, but the patched won't show squat.

    ohhhh welllll.

i'll just wait around and hopefully someone may stumble across this thread and know how to fix my noobie mistake.

    Word to the noobs.........READ ALOT!!!

If you're using wbfs manager, why in gods name do you need to use this backup creator of yours? It's obviously screwed up your iso's. wbfs manager loads games onto your hard drive anyway, and shrinks them to the scrubbed smaller size. usb loader gx still recognises them as normal sized games anyway. Either download the iso again or you could try to "unscrub" the iso with wii scrubber. Choose diff option and save the diff file. Then click unscrub, point the scrubber to the iso and the diff file you've just created. It should build back up the iso as it's intended to be, but since you've used another program it might be irreversable.
