ok you have 2 different posts that refer to some kind of guide that doesn't seem to fit into anything offered on this site. if you have a specific problem we may be able to help if your descriptions of the problem are not vague or in reference to something that is not on this site.

Don't follow anything but our guides. Use the 4.2 guide in my sig to softmod and the error index if you get error codes

Yep, I agree, that guide ( http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...tem-menus.html ) is THE best around. Ive used it on 3x 4.2E consoles now and it worked faultlessly

TBH, that guide is so good that I would be inclined to update any future consoles I have to mod to 4.2E first

    Re: 4.2 Hack

    Hi there,

Please excuse my poor explanation in this matter, but i have been trying to follow the new Wii 4.2 hack for my Wii. i tried to follow it step by step whether i am miss reading it or something but it just doesn't work for me. It starts with the installation of HBC then goes on to hack it to be able to play backup games. half way through the steps at a point where i am supposed to delete IOS 222, IOS 223, IOS 249, and IOS 250 fails from that point won't delete the above files as described in the steps so i guess it can procede to the next step please help. Did think of starting over fresh and trying it from the beggining please advise.

    Alan

P.S. Totally new to this please excuse my poor explantion but hope it helps you.

I think you're misunderstanding some of the guide. The only IOS it's instructing you to delete is the stub IOS 249, which was put in place to prevent modified software from running. Later in the guide, you will install 222/223 via the Hermes installer. At no point in the guide will you uninstall IOS 222, 223, or 250: Only the stub 249 in Part B.

Read the entire guide again before you continue, and make sure you're following the directions it gives.

No kidding. Sometimes I feel like half the problems people keep running into on this site could be solved if they just read through the directions properly instead of rushing through them and making 20 million threads about NSMB.
