Inverted Screen when updating - Help

    Help,

I've followed Dogeggs' tuorial to softmod my wii (it has menu 3.4e) installed.

After performing step 3b - getting a CIOS - the menu screen for homebrew is upsidedown !!

Is this normal, can I continue with the tutorial or how can I resote the system.

    Thanks...

    reinstalling HBC usually fixes it.

    Thanks for replying so quickly.
Should I continue with the mod? I did manage to load Trucha Bug Restorer with the screen upside down - bit of a challenge working the remote backwards!!

If quit and reinstall HBC do I just resume the mod where I left off?

    Cheers

Just re-install HBC and resume where you got to, step 4 is after TBR.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

    Thanks,

But how do i uninstall homebrew

Also the next optional step is to install Priiloader - What is the benefit of this, if I don't install am I limiting the games I can run?

    - sorry to be a pain, I guess we've all got to learn somehow!!

    Cheers

Who said uninstall? We aren't using a PC here. We just load stuff on top with the Wii.

Re-install HBC, that means either run the first part of the tutorial again or run the hackmii installer boot.elf through your upside down HBC.

Priiloader provides a number of system hacks including update blocking and brick recovery solutions. It's worth having if you only have bootmii/IOS. You won't be limiting yourself but it's in the tutorial for a good reason.

I had the same issue, i just went ahead with the tut even with the screen upside down. after i was finished with the tut. I installed HBC again. So now i had 2 on my wii. after that I went into data management and deleted the upside down one. Don't delete the upside down one until you install the second one. does that make sense. i probably could have worded that better

i have the same problem (HBC upside down). however, it haapened to me after installed CIOSCORP3.5 and the hackmii installer does'nt work with this installed.

Apart from uninstalling the 3.5 and then reinstalling HBC and then reinstalling 3.5 is there any other way of solving this issue?

    Thanks

P.S - How do i use the 3.5 uninstaller? (dumb question i know)

OK - I fixed it by uninstalling Corp3.5 so i could load hackmii and uninstalled the HBC and started the guide again from scratch but this time used an older version of HBC....Completed the tut and installed corp 3.5 and NG8 beta and everything works like a charm.

Just like to say thanks to ALL of the posters on this board without whom we'd never get anywhere.
