    wiiware wads on 4.2u

Short question here, I have a 4.2u modded and soft modded (so i could use usb loader and trucha bug) everything works great ie. trucha pathed disks and usb loader. My question is , is it ok to install VC and wiiware wads using the wad manager? There's mabee a few titles I would like. And Im assuming when If i can install them they will just be chanels that i can use straight from the wii menu... Thanks in advance.

You can most definately install VC/WiiWare games into your modded console. I have a 4.2 system with numerous VC/WiiWare titles installed to the system.

Although you may want to look into something called Trifore: HERE

Awsome thanks for the reply, just one more question... when I did the softmod I did NOT make a backup of my NAND with bootmii as i didn't have a gamecube controller and my wii buttons didn't work for moving in bootmii... And the guide I used said if you installed bootmii as an ios and not boot2 you didn't have to but it was recommended. Don't really know what the difference between boot2 install and ios install of bootmii is but thats not the issue... Is it to late to do a NAND backup cause I already did the softmod, or should i still do it. And i guess better yet what is a NAND backup for? And do i really need one?

Sorry so green on this stuff.

In my opinion, a NAND should always be made. When you make a backup of your NAND your basically making a backup of your Wii, so in the case something happens [ie a brick] you can restore your Wii to the way it was when you made the NAND backup.

Having it as boot2 is better than IOS because if it is as boot2 you can load directly into BootMii. As an IOS you have to have someway of getting into HBC to access BootMii [such as preloader]. Plus having it as boot2 is a lot more stable, and secure, to do a restore than trying a restore using BootMii as IOS.

i would do a nand backup everytime you are gonna do something to your wii that you are unsure of. now would be best to start. and copy that nand backup onto your pc so it wont get lost

I have a few brothers with wii's and im sure there gonna want me to mess with there's too.

You can definately install preloader for 4.2, just make sure you install IOS70 Patched first then preloader. Also make sure you have the correct hacks.ini for your 4.2 System.

    IOS70patched: HERE!

    preloader: HERE!

    hacks: HERE!

If you followed the step for IOS70patched [it's in that guide] then yes you have it patched already. If your not sure if you patched it or not, you can just do it again [it shouldn't brick anything, just overwrite].
