    Question about smodding 4.2U

Ok, so, I'm about to soft mod my friend's Wii. It' was recently updated from 3.4U to 4.2U. Now, I've been trying to use this guide: http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...tem-menus.html

Now, I can get the HBC installed, and the DVDX, but not Bootmii. When I go to the installer for all 3, under the option for bootmii it says

BootMii: Can only be installed as an IOS
    The installed boot1 version prevents a boot2 install (-2)

So, when I go to install bootmii as an IOS my Wii just freezes. Does anyone have any idea of what I should do or which files to use? thanks in advance.

bootmii is not a required part, and the ios ver wont help u much when ur wii is bricked so u could just skip it and get something like preloader. It might help u with banner brick(corrupted system files).
U can try redownloading the installer and/or wait for other ppl responces too

Well, I tried to continue on with the guide without bootmii and got a bunch of errors while working with WAD Manager. I think I'll see what anyone else has to say, but thanks for the advice.

Did you get rid of the stub249? Are you sure you installed the cIOS38r14? What kind of errors are you getting out of WadManager.

Well, I haven't gotten rid of stub249 since that's what step B is, trying to get rid of it. As for WAD Manager I try with IOS36 and then when I try to uninstall IOS249 it gives me an error (some number I can't really look at right now but if it really matters I'll look for it). Any other IOS and it the Wii just freezes.

Did you try all the other options from the guide to delete stub249 [there are 3 alternatives to try if the first one fails].

B1) GET THIS PACK(Thanks to Dogeggs, he sure made the trick... this will probably work for anyone) or GET THIS PACK 2 or GET THIS PACK 3 (pick start with the first one, if you get an error pick the next one and follow instructions from B2 and on again. One of this will do the trick without an error.

There is also this link: HERE!!! that should also be tried.
