    softmodding question

i have system menu 4.0, now what i'm wondering is according to the guide when you do the NAND backup you might need a gamecube controller to scroll through the menu or use pwr/reset/eject buttons on the console. anyone who has done the softmod on 4.0 ever have to use the gamecube controller cause i don't have one....

Try going through the softmod tutorial, the bootmii project team have updated such that more people are reporting being able to use the Wii console buttons to navigate the bootmii menu instead of having to buy or borrow a GC controller. Good luck.

i bought a generic controller from a local dollar general store (cheap place to buy anything in the us) that can be used on gamecube for 10 us dollars and it worked great. just though i would throw that out there lol

Might have to go there and look for one. Didn't think they would have anything like that in there. And I know my town has about 2 stores here.

yea lol mine is a block away and my son has gone through about 4 or 5 of them as he gets so mad and throws them against the wall (autism). the first time i had to restore a nand it took a few times of trying to mash the buttons at the same time but i have heard that is always the case with any controller. a mans gotta save a buck or two
