    Region Free

I'd like to ask if you could remove the region lock on your latest wii version without hardmodding it (chipping)

If you have a softmodded Wii, all the loaders whether backup loader such as NeoGamma or the USB loaders have menu settings that allow one to play out-of-region games. Preloader also has some hacks for out-of-region settings.

Yes, after the softmod-you would most likely have to use a loader though in order to use the region settings. Some might be able to play directly if preloader handles it first-out-of-region games often take a bit of work to get going. Some play right off the bat, others will never play-and that is not dependent on the game itself-the Wiis vary a bit in their tolerance. But, bottomline is no chip mod is required to give you a chance to play some out-of-region games.

For softmod guides: If your Wii is 3.1-4.1 follow this tutorial: http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html. If you have updated to 4.2, then this guide is the one to follow: http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-faqs-guides-tutorials-only/24630-full-hacking-guide-4-2-system-menus.html.
