WD drive intermittent, anyone else too ?

I have a Western Digital Hard drive, mybook, not sure which edition but it has usb and firewire 400 and i think a sata interface, 500gb and I did the wiiflow installation as well as loader gx. Sometimes the drive is recognized by the wii and sometimes its not. I always have to unplug and plug it in again to get it going. Is it my drive ? Is there a fix ? or should I just get a new drive?

    Thanks

careful my brother inlaw had that drive and when he unplugged it and plugged it in again. it stopped working all together. luckily it was still only less than a week old so it was replaced by the same drive but he didn't have that problem with the second one. i had just assumed he had done something wrong when he initially formatted it but we never knew why it did that.

I do have another of the same drives but its full of data. I'll have to do a data swap and see if that works. I'll also have to check which model number I have and check that chart out. Thanks for the advice.
