    Banner Brick ? Quick fix

Hello all I have read all of the posts concerning banner brick. Hear is my problem was on 3.4 pal ran soft mod had a few issues installing homebrew etc but managed in the end, also installed preloader and bootmii also saved nand backup and firmware updater 4.1, also installed wad manager. Everything working fine then installed usb loader tried to install then gave me system files corrupt message.
can get into homebrew etc with preloader.
Should I re install firmware updater 4.1 which I already have or should I download system menu 450 and install. Have uninstalled usb loader now but there isnt a wad file to remove as I didnt add this to the folder on the sd card.
    Best way forward most appreciated

Don't update. You will lose preloader and the best method of removing the wad that caused your banner brick.

If you can find the wad you installed usb loader with and put it on your SD card it will be very easy to remove it and get your Wii back healthy again. If not you can use anytitledeleter to remove it, but be careful as you can remove critical files and render your Wii totally black screen full bricked.

Let us know how you get on, don't try stuff without asking first to be safe.

Install IOSpatched 60 first, then system menu 450 both with Wad Manager. Then reinstall preloader

Hmm trouble is Si that may not fix it.

What we don't know is if this is a preloader on 3.4 issue or a banner brick 4.1 issue. Removing Preloader would necessitate buying modchips and gamecube controllers.

Chris - When you launch Preloader what does the IOS and System menu detail say when you load Preloader.

    Hi
The preloader screen says ios 36 and system menu 450. I think my main problem was that I had usb loader on my sd card but didnt add the wad file on there as well so it wasnt instatted.
However I can get into homebrew etc.
The preloader is v29 and on that screen it says there is a 30 update when I try to update its for a while and eventually says press 1 to update . When I update is a small message saying something about ios36 and it has the troucha bug fixed ?
From prloader menu if I select to boot the the homebrew channel I get the same corrupt file message so I have to get to homebrew by load the file.

    Cheers

Well Sys menu 450 is 4.1E but that would normally read IOS60 not IOS36.

You did install IOS60patched.wad or IOS60xxxx.wad when updating to 4.1 didn't you?

Having usbloader boot.dol on your SD card would not banner brick, only installing a wad file would do that.

Preloader 0.29 does not check for the homebrew channel in the new location JODI, it only knows it to be in HAXX so that's why you have trouble loading it.

I do not recall ever seeing that Preloader displays IOS36 when run and certainly not with v450. It uses it to install of course but that's different.

    This may require ISO60patched installation.

Yes I did install ios60 patched, maybe I am mistaken, I will check again tonight.
Hermes_cios_222_installer_rev4 I also installed this, but not sure what it is for.
I will also add all wads installed if this will help

My preloader menu says ios v60
    system menu v450
    the wads which have been installed are ;
    ios15-64-v257
    ios15-64-v266
    ios36-64-v3094
    ios38-64-v3610
these wads are placed directly in the sd card.
the wads which are installed from the wad folder are:

    ios38-64-v3610
    ios50-64-v4889
    ios53-64-v5149
    ios55-64-v5149
    ios-60-patched
    negamma r8 b7

    hope this helps. Thanks

At least it does say IOS60, that IOS36 business was just wierd.

The first set of files are for the TBR part of tutorial while the second part are for the loading part of the tutorial. Those files should all be ok as they have been used on thousands of Wiis.

There are a number of apps for the Wii which list the contents of the memory, such as anytitlelister, titlelister but there's one that lists the names of the channels. I just can't recall the name.

We need to have a full list of all channels so we can deduce which is faulty, it's a new softmod so shouldn't be full or crap yet.

The only additional channels are homebrew and the neogamma r8.
and the additional channel on homebrew loaded on the sd card cio222 installer which came with the usb loader , cios38r14 installer, 4.1 firmware updater, preloader, troucha bug and wad manager.

Also if I try and update preloader version to .30 is says update failed as ios60 has the fake sign bug.

    Thanks Chris
