The Softmod was looking good then...

....it didn't work! I went through the excellent guide New 3.1-4.1 Softmod for ANY Wii on this site and everything went like a dream. Then I put in a burned disc of Sports Resort that my friend had played many times on his hacked Wii and it would not play. I have the settings on Preloader set so that disc updates are blocked and region free games are allowed but with no joy. The Wii menu recognises the disc and shows the Sports Resort logo in the channel but when you click on Start this error message appears on a black screen with white letters :

An error has occurred. Press the Eject Button, remove the Game Disc and turn the power off. Please read the Wii operations manual for more information.

I am running 4.1E and official games play without any issue. The disc is Maxell DVD-R so the disc brand might be the problem but my friends Wii plays it OK. I have tried several variants of the hacks.ini file too. Does anyone have any ideas I can try??

    Thanks.

Thanks for the Sports Resort tip. But...I have just tried another backup game that should work (Pikmin 2 for the Wii) and I get the same error message even though I can see the Pikmin pic in the channel. Any other ideas??

maybe u run the game from the disc channel and not a backup loader?
The Picture should show(original disc channel) and ur sopposed to click Neogamma r8 and load the game from there.

i would not reccomend installing cIOSCORP at all, Neogamma should work fine and it does not cause any problems.

Ok....I'd already tried Sports Resort in both the main disc channel and Neogamma but with no success. When I run Sports Resort through Neogamma and click on 'Load dvd' the Health & Safety screen appears then when you press A it goes back to the Wii menu.

However, I've just tried loading Pikmin 2 through Neogamma and it actually loads perfectly. Hadn't tried that before. So do you think it is the Sports Resort game (I've tried 2 different backups of this now on different disc brands) rather than my Wii as suggested by the first reply to my question from siphilips?

With regards the cIOSCROP I use I'm not too sure. I just followed this guide with no hitches - http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html

Ok, thanks - I won't bother installing cIOScorp then. Will test a few more games and see how I get on.
