    Problem with homebrew

My friend told me about this website and helped me to modify my wii to be able to play game form my usb hdd.

i am following the "Wii Hack Tutorial - How to Hack Your Wii in 7 minutes! Simplest tutorial on youtube!" i did install the hombrew and dvdx fine without problem, after that when i loaded the homebrew channel, it said that i had version 1.03 and that they were an update to 1.06, i clicked update, it dl the data but when its done dowloading, it load the sd card again "the page you have to hit 1 to continue when u load ur sd card" when i restart homebrew, it tell me the samething, that i have to update to 1.06, so i said no this time and loaded boot.dol and i did run the downgrade with no problem, however when i click the second one "patchmii", the wii freeze, i cannot move to option 1 or 3, options 2 "''patchmii"' stays highlined and cannot move and is not installing. if i try to skip and go to boot2.dol, it freezes also. i checked my internet connection and everything is fine.

anyone know what it could be?

the only thing i did differently from my friend was to put everything on the sd card the 7 misn video files, the trucha bug restorer, the cios36 and the usb loader. maybe since i put everything on the sd at the begining? i also tried deleteing my sd card and uininstalling the homebrew and dvdx and starting over with only the files from the 7 mins video, i reinstalled homebrew and dvdx, when i do downgrade, it failed, it says i already have the file and when i click on patchmii, it freeze again

    anyone can help?

when you received the notice to update homebrew channel and downloaded it. it does not auto install the update for you.

so you need to start again and load the boot.dol and go back into the install homebrew
this is were it will install the new version it downloaded.

ok i did reinstall manually the homebrew channel after the update, now, my homebrew channel does not have the second options like in the video "loadmii"

    i have in my homebrew,
homebrew browser apps (black screen when i clikc on it)

    mplayer cd

    snes9gx

    super mario war wii

how am i supposed to click on loadmii so i can access the boot and boot2 files?

btw, i formated my wii memory and redid my sd card as shown in video and did update the homebrew channel manually, my homebrew version is now 1.06

to show apps in the home brew channel they need to be sitting inside your "apps" folder on your sd card. so if u cant see loadmii then chances are that its not on your sd card in apps.

it seems that by updating homebrew to version 1.0.6, it removed the loadmii folder from apps, what i did is i reextract it into the apps folder and lauch homebrew, i first go on boot.dol as show on vid and then i click the downgrade but it tell me fail that i already ran this and when i click on PatchMii (run second) then the wii freeze, i have a lu39 serie btw

i just read the thread about lu39 having problem

best time of the year for this next line.

hi i am returning this wii as i got it for my brother/sister/son etc etc as a christmas present and found out they already have 1 so i would like a refund.

go to a 2nd hand store and buy a old wii that works good and start from there
