New Wii's have what version installed

Quick question, if I go out and buy a brand new Wii system. What version of firmware will it likely have? Can I just go buy one and do a softmod?

im pretty shore it will have the 4.1 firmware on it and with a brand new Wii system your only option is to softmod it and they ship with a new harddrive that is not able to have a mod chip installed. i found out this buy buying 1 2 months ago from big w so returned it and went shopping at cash convertors and searched the serial numbers till i found 1 that could get hard modded and worked good.

btw this was the case with a pal system

Lets use proper english, punctuation, and sentance structure here people. Just because you buy a brand new system doesn't neccessarily mean it will have 4.1 on it. I just bought a system a month ago brand new with 3.4 on it. Although, the best way to go is to a seconhand store, [or a place that sells used systems] and just take a gander at the serial numbers. The lower the number the better, as you will have the option to install BootMii as boot2 [which is far superior to installing it as an IOS as in newer systems cause of boot2 v4]. But do let it be known that you can softmod ANY system, just the 4.2 systems require a little more due-diligence to mod.

It's only a requirement if you want people to understand what you are trying to say.
