    Can't run ios downgrader 1.1

Hey, all. I've been following Shadow's guide to softmod my Wii, but when I get to step 7, troubles arise. Here are the instructions:

    7. Make sure the internet connection for your Wii is set up, get back into Homebrew Channel, run IOS DOWNGRADER V1.1, reboot when it's done.
-(if after you press A and it says "press any button to reboot the wii" skip this step and proceed directly to step #8)-

When I get here and run the program, my Wii reboots itself instantly, before it has a chance to actually run the program. This isn't the same as it running, and then rebooting when it's finished.

My internet connection on my Wii is up and running.

My Wii has a Wiikey installed. Would this be part of the problem?

    Any ideas?

    Cheers,

    -d-

I don't know if it's available here. I went to #wiihacks and it was the guide everyone was using.

How do I install .ios249? I've looked around but haven't found anything that's worked.

I haven't tried it, I'll give it a whirl now. It's safe? No brick potential?

I came across the guide because I came across the #wiihack channel here, so I went into the chatroom and asked if there were any guides to softmodding the Wii. Someone told me to type ? softmod and it brought up a link to the guide and the included files. Everything was going fine until that step.
