    semi-successfully softmodded wii3.1!

thanks for the forums and great tutorial!
i soft modded this pos and ran into a few minor problems.
    1. homebrew turned upside down. reinstalled to fix, but why did it do that?
    2. in the preloader part, i got to the section 5d which told me to use preloader to load HBC but it couldnt. said error autobooting hbc, maybe not installed or something.
found the fix, went to download jodi version, whatever that means, and overwrote my old preloader files with jodi. went back and still same problem! i skipped 5a (not version 4) and in 5c it said there were no hacks for me so i left it at that and continued. what did i do wrong?
still, i just loaded HBC and finished the guide. want to know my mistake though.

now the optional part, i understand they are optional but what are these?
    a. USB Loader GX & WBFS Manager 3
    b. cIOScorp 3.5
    c. Internet Channel (i havent gone on the internet yet but i assumed if i just plugged in the ethernet cable i could get on. why do i have to do this separately???)

lastly..........i see the DVDR channel as my last channel. if i just burn games onto dvdr/rw it should work through there? i heard my friend uses an external hard drive to load his games, wondering how you can do that instead.

thanks for the help guys!!! mega noob here made it in 2.5 hrs! (mostly getting my sd card to be read on the laptop.............)

A few questions, I'll try to answer them for you.
    1. HBC upside down, the creators of this software, added this for mischeif.
    Reinstalling usually fixs it.
    2. JODI version means, when Nintendo issued 4.2 they changed the title of the HBC from HAXX to JODI. So old version of preloader will not find the HBC
    3. Latest is PriiLoader if you want that you can download from title in my sig
    4. USB Loader GX & WBFS Manager 3, is a way of playing games from a HDD instead of loading DVD's
    5. If you want to run backup DVD's from the disc channel you have to use cIOScorp 3.5 (not recommended.
    6. Most people use WiFi but you can plug a lan cable in one of the USB ports.
You can have the internet channel on your Wii
There are settings in data management for WiFi and Internet

    Phew, thats the lot.

Here is a good guide for USB loaders
    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...s-usb-hdd.html

Most people run DVD's from backup loaders, ie Neogamma. Not directly in the disc channel.

    Hello Guys...

I performed a couple of updates to get my WR working of my loader program and ended up turning my homebrew upside. How do I fix this or do I need to reinstall this effectively and efficently?...

    Thanks in advance,

    HQS

    Usually reinstalling HBC fixes it.

    Kewl...

    that's what I thought.

What's the best way to re-install the homebrew channel?.
I don't have the original twilight game so I cannot use that method.

I've tried to reload ISO36 and get a -1 error.

Can anyone help in the re-install of homebrew??

    thanks in advance,

    HQS

I already have homebrew installed...just interface is upside down.
Do I need to delete homebrew?. and then re install it using bannerbomb?.
I read someplace that reinstalling ISO36 using wadmanager will get the menu back to the right look. I tried and got an error -1 when loading wad file. I forgot to mention that this occured when I installed cIOSCORP 3.2 as was suggested to remove my 002 error with Wii Resort.
    I have cIOS36-rev10 installed on my 3.4U.

    Thanks in advance,

    HQS
