Cant get homebrew back on my updated wii

I'm new with this guys so bare with me. I bought me wii when it came out and soft modded it a few months back. Everything went fine. My son, updated the will through the internet by mistake and guess what....all home brew gone. Now its 4.2U and I cant get anything to run on it. Error after error trying to get around this. Am I trying to do something that can't be done? If I try running Hackmii I get the "no vulnerable ios" error. Cant seem to get rid of that...any help or idead would be great....unless this is a nogo and I'm done. Thanks

yes you'll have to use the 4.2 guide in the tutorials section of this forum. your softmod is undone. may i suggest enabling the parental control setting on the wii in the future

I've tried (I think) with what it told me to do. I keep getting errors each time I try it. Ill try from square one again and try the method and write down exactly what errors im getting so you guys can help me out more. As for my son...hes 14. Didn't think bone head would do something like that....but he and I both learned our lessons. Thanks for the quick reply.

if you softmodded it not so long ago successfully then you should be able to go through this with little or no issues

Ok....got further. Went to the no vulnerable ios error section and finished through step 5. Installed Homebrew channel, DVDX, and bootmii. Now it tells me to start the regular guide for 4.2. The problem is (if it is one) When I start my wii the bootmii screen doesn't come up. I installed it and it said ok but I dont see it. Starts normal like it would without it there. I do have the homebrew channel now. So something did work.

so you had bootmi as boot2 so it would come on when you powered up the wii before this update happened? make sure the bootmi folder is in the root directory with all 3 files in it

All set.....or so I thought. Like I said...im new to this. What you said worked. I had backed up my SD chip before formatting it to do all this stuff. So I put everything back on. Everything works just the way it did before.....except my backup discs. Wont read them. Did before with no trouble...now they don't. Again....thanks for even getting me this far.
