    Can modded Wiis go online?

    2 questions:

The VC shop, is it safe to go in there after soft modding?

Games, like Bomberman blast, if you downloaded a wad for it, can you go online and play with others? without Nintendo trying to brick your Wii or anything? o.0

Yes, Nintendo, unlike MicroSoft with their xbox, are not really good at detecting. But perhaps there is still some threat and things to be careful about. Be at ease.

Oh, sorry. I didn't see your last post [we both posted at the same minute], I was referring to the topic title only. Here is what I found in the FAQ topic about your question, in case you haven't saw it.
Q:Can installing .wad files brick my Wii?
A: Yes installing .wad files can brick your Wii. Use only trusted .wad files. Any channel wad that you install has the potential to brick you if it is not a properly formed wad. If the banner is not formed correctly, it will cause what's known as a banner brick. This will cause you to no longer be able to access your system menu so if you do not have preloader or bootmii installed to boot2, you will be in a very bad situation. If you DO have preloader or boot2 bootmii you can still use them to launch the HBC and then wad manager and just uninstall the bad wad you just installed. Doing this will fix your brick and you can go back about your business. Do NOT uninstall IOS wad's if you have a brick though. If for any reason you install some sort of system menu IOS wad like IOS60 on FW 4.0/4.1 while having preloader installed, it will cause a brick as well, but the way to fix this brick is to load preloader and the HBC and reinstall preloader, NOT uninstalling the IOS60 wad. By uninstalling that IOS wad, you will not only brick your Wii even harder, you will kill preloader as well and possibly your only chance and recovering from that brick. So be sure you always know what you are installing/uninstalling through Wad Manager. I'd rather not hear about your "accidents".

    Another questin on this topic!

Ok. So I'm relatively new to this whole hacking and homebrew thing. I softmodded my updated 4.2u Wii about 3 weeks ago. Since then I havn't been on either the Nintendo Channel or Wii Shop Channel. Two nights ago I tried to go onto the Nintendo Channel and it asked me to accept a new user agreement. I read through the whole thing and it seems to be geared directly towards the homebrew community. So my question is, Is it safe to agree to the terms? I'm just concerned Nintendo will do a scan upon agreeing and wipe my homebrew out. Any advice would be appreciated!

That was what I was trying to ask!!! I wanted to know if Nintendo could brick your Wii directly over the internet, not if you could brick your wii with bad wads, though that was good to learn too. I don't go in the shop much at all, but I'm afraid of what my little cousins might do. I tried playing bomberman online though, it worked...so far...

Hey. If it makes you feel any better, I have successfully done an online roster update on Madden '10 using a backup copy. Havn't had an issue. Still can't use the Nintendo Channel or the Wii Shop Channel as nobody has gotten back to say whether or not it's okay to accept the agreement!
