    Modding my wii

SO, for my christmas present, i was thinking about modding my wii with a chip. Knowing what the riscks would be, i researched a lot in the internet about what was the best chip, and things like that...
But when i read about softmodding, and problems with the 4.2update and recent games... i got really
So i decided to ask for your help.
I've already updated my wii with the 4.2u update from nintendo and i want to install a modchip. What chip should I use? What software sould I install? How can I make recent games work, like NSMBWii our CoD:4 Reflex?
Oh, and my wii is PAL.
Please help me! Maybe I will pick a wrong chip and destroy my wii!

There really isn't a point to get a modchip now seeing how you are on system menu 4.2. The new system menu blocks all out of region gameplay for modchips. So you will be stuck playing only PAL region games. You are better off sticking to homebrew and use neogamma to load out of region and in region games.
Come to the Irc room to get help or just have fun

Motivation alone is not enough. If you have an idiot and you motivate him, now you have a motivated idiot.

I agree with the above, you would be best to softmod your wii now, Messie has done a great guide for the 4.2 have a read of that, but make sure you read it a few times before you go ahead with it..

    OK then.
I've already read the guide, and i'm ready to do it.
BTW, will my wii still be able to play original games?
