USB Loader GX starts up weird...

I have it installed to my channels. When I click on it, the screen turns black for a few seconds, then I get columns of weird symbols going down the screen, then some green ones, and then the USB Loader GX logo comes up and it's like any other channel where you click the big "start" button on the bottom right corner to start it. Is it always supposed to do that?

Also, I get that message sometimes saying that my USB device is slow, why? When I use neogamma to load the game, it takes a few retries to load it up also...

How does it work when loading it from hbc?
Not sure why your devise is slow, have you tried others? I could be possible the devise has spun down and gone asleep.

I've tried running the loader from HBC and from the channel, the same weird thing happens either way...when I watched a video on youtube with a guy loading up the USB loader GX, it goes loads up smoothly with no weird glyching things...

I'm using a hitachi, the compatibilty list says it works for USB...the brand atleast, not the specific HDD.

For the hard drive have a look at this compatibility list. Find your drive. Drives will usually have a utility software that allows to adjust the spin down settings, you should try to turn the spin down off, or a large amount of time.
You can have a look at Hitachi disk utilities if you don't have something that came with the drive.

For the loader, I would recommend uninstalling the usbloader gx channel wad you have and installing the forwarder channel, which will run off the sd card. Then format the sd card and reinstall the usbloader gx with their installer.

hmmm....before I do this, should I first try to install the hermes CIOS thing that came with the USB Loader rar I downloaded? it said:

3: (Optional) Go to HB channel and install Hermes cIOS. Install this if your Wii has trouble recognising your usb drive or you have any other compatibility problems.

Could this be a compatibility issue I'm having?

    oh, nevermind then

I tried what you said: run the loader from SD card with forwarder, and it's working...

    thanks! =]

does this mean I have to lead the USB loader GX folder inside the Apps folder in my SD card now?

Yes, you need the loader in the apps folder and the sd-card in the wii. But by using the forwarder you can update the app from with the loader.
