    wi-fi question

    Hey all, i am a newbie at the whole wii hacking thing but i have a question about the wi-fi. Do you HAVE to use wii usb wireless adapter or can you use any usb wireless adapter?? just wondering because i have a usb wireless adapter hooked up to my other desktop computer.

    does your wii not have a built in wifi adapter?

    You'd need to put the usb wireless adapter into AP mode so it acts like a router rather than just a receiver. My USB wireless adapter has something called SoftAP.

    Whether it'll work or not is another thing, theoretically it should but then theory and the Wii are two very different things.
    Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

    well i just bought it 2 days ago so it's brand new. do they have built in wireless?

    as far as i know it should. go to the wii settings under internet. there should be 3 possible save configurations for you. when you click on one it should give the choice to search for an access point or to do manual setup.

    All Wiis have built in Wifi, the USB adapter is to stick in your PC so to provide a wireless signal your Wii can use.
    Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

    wifi

    to dtstewy.

    before you connect your wii to wifi,, have a wee think and decide whether you wanna switch off wii connect24 as this wii auto update wii ..

    you could use other apps out there for browsing web on wii
