    Confused newbie

    Hey,

I'm trying to follow messie's excellent guide to hacking a Wii version 4.2e.

I have done part A. HBC has been installed so I've moved onto part B. I downloaded the packs, formatted my SD card and have launched the HBC channel. One thing to not, I installed bootmii as a boot2 rather than an ios. Would that make a difference??

Here is the problem. I don't have 'bootmii' as an aoption. The HBC channel is blank when I select it and when I press the home button from here I have the following options...

    Back
    About
    Exit to system menu
    Shutdown

Please tell me I've made an elementary mistake already....

    Thanks in advance

normally you would see bottmi in that list but since you were able to install as boot2 it may not, i have never been fortunate enough to see it myself. as far as homebrew being blank it only shows the programs that are in their folders in the apps folder of the root directory. if they are not in that folder nothing will show up on the channel except that cool water background lol

recheck the contents of the sd card as it should be going to bootmi for you. there should be a bootmi folder in the root with 3 files there

    Thanks oddgriffin,

I basically started it all again from scratch and it worked second time around. Maybe I just didn't install bootmii to begin with. Either way, it's all good now.

    thanks again...
