    Total newbie bought a Wii

    Hello Wii Hack community ,

I am the proud owner of a new Black PAL Wii (bought it yesterday)

The world of Wii hacking didn't take long to find for me

Now I am a newbie at these things so I'd like to know a few things :

-Will the Wii hack be able to play Wii/gamecube games without owning them ?

-I've read you need to put your SD card into your PC and put files onto it , I was wondering how I can put an SD card into my PC.

-Will you still be able to play online with a Wii hacked console and update to the latest firmware

-Let's say you ever want to make your Wii normal again (non hacked) , can you just delete the hack ?

    Thanks in advance

I boughtthe black Wii a little while ago unfortunately it won't play backups from dvd so you need to use neo gamma or Usb loader GX.
And yes you can play online, you need to read the guides.
I'm now into retro games console hacking and development.
Currently working on Nintendo 64 if you want to help PM me.

ok from what i know ...some of the new black wii's will not read dvd-r so you will probably have to use a usb loader to play games off of a usb hdd attached to the wii..to put a sd card into your pc ,if you don't have a card reader ,you will have to go buy an adapter to hook up to your pc, to put files on the sd card (wally world an k-mart sell these regularly), yes you can play online with a hacked wii as far as updating to the latest nintendo firmware ...I WOULD SUGGEST YOU DO NOT DO THIS !!!!!! ..especially if you want to play backup games that you do not own...Nintendo is very guilty of injecting code into their updates that will keep you from playing backup games and software and homebrew ....go to the tutorials and start there ....hope this helps and good luck .... also it is not suggested to downgrade a new wii as this can brick it

I would give disc loading a shot just to make sure you have one of the evil new drives. You might not for all you know. If you do have one of the bad new drives then yes, get an external hard drive.

    Sorry for double post.

It doesn't HAVE to be a external hdd right ? I mean an 8gb usb would suffice too ? (Download some games , put them on and put them on wii and delete them off usb and repeat)

I'll just need to find a card reader then. I got a Sandisk Micro 2GB card

it might be a bit slower than a hdd but it should work once formated with wbfs manager.

Since your Wii will probnably not read DVD-Rs, you will have to load all of the .isos of the games you download directly to a USB Storage Device (HDD or stick, doesn't matter) through your PC using a program called WBFS manager. Your Wii will only read retail games, so unless you plan to buy/return games you want ALOT (especially with a dinky 8GB that will hold about 4 games, depending on sze)... I would save alot of free space on my computers HDD for the .isos not in use.... Or I would at least invest in a bigger external HDD.
