Yes of course but you'l lose your ability to run homebrew code if you got locked out of your System Menu.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

So, I can delete the Home brew channel, but I will not be able to access bootmii, or some other program if I somehow damage or brick the wii? The question is, if I remove the home brew channel, will I lose the ability to repair any future damage to the wii, or will I just have to reinstall the channel?

You lose flexability. Just rename the Apps directory, homebrew will appear if selected but will display nothing.

It sounds like you're just worried about them screwing something up. I've went through this with friends with kids. Just make a copy of their sd card to save on your pc and delete anything off their card that could screw something up? Why would they even need most of that stuff? Only thing I left on their sd was harmless stuff like emulators. Its hard to mess up something from homebrew if stuff like any title deleter isn't on there. And as tealc said just move it all the way to the right. If you ever need to do something to their wii just put everything back on the card

Not every option. Should I put the Wii in the microwave? Will that protect it?

Seriously, this thread has been a big help. Thanks for everything.
