Softmod my Wii success but, .:: 0_o ::..

One of the main reasons I modded my Wii was to be able to have DVD playback(amongst various other reasons).

    I followed this tut...http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html

    read this http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html

    and printed out this..http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...g-wii-faq.html.

But I still can't get a dvd to play. I've tried Mplayer > open file > DVD , then it just goes ....PHHLRUGHH and nothing happens. Any suggested reading?

SECOND QUESTION: Neogamma when I start it up says I have rev.10 and the newest is rev.14 should I upgrade?

playing dvds especially with music or movie media may be the result of not installing dvdx in the first steps of the tutorial. it is always best to have the latest STABLE revision of cios.

Hmmm, so I went back and installed DVDx after I had everything said and done. That may present a problem you say? That sux.

if it is installed it is not likely to be the problem. i merely suggested it could have been based on the information you gave and starting at the first part of the process. there are other possibilities as well like are you using dvd-r or dvd+r. there could be a step missed in the guide not sure i just looking for simple solutions first lol.
