Red face Working this issue for two days...please help.

First up thanks for your posts. You have never seen any of mine but trust me, I have read yours.

I have a Wii with a serial LU30 that is using 4.0U, and I have installed the WHBC. I used CIOS38_rev14 and Hermes_cIOS222_223_installer_3.0 as instructed by the tutoral. I am using a 500gb WD Passport USB drive (which was listed on the wiki as functional for this application) formated via WBFS 3.0. It is not partitioned as I do not want to use it for anything except for my Wii. I used installed USB Loader GX and everytime I put my harddrive into my bottom usb port on my Wii and load GX it first shows some lines, says it's waiting for my slow usb drive, then it times out. My harddrive blinks during this and the program quits after timing out.

I have read and read but I am missing something. Can someone help me?

NeoGamma does not work either. The drive light flashes as "Mounting USB Tries left:" counts down to 0.

Does NeoGamma work if you put a backup disc in to play?

I think you HAVE to partition part of the HDD drive to FAT32 in order for your pc to recognize it so if you need to use WBFS Manager to do things, you should partition it.

here is a guide that may help you:

I have the same issue with my WD 150 GB drive. I have not checked to see if it is qualified but it randomly works but for the past days I have had the issue with the drive blinking a countdown to mount with Neogamma. With loader gx it complains about slow usb connection as you mention.

I have only created one partition (wbfs) on my drive but will try to add another to see if that resovles the issue.

If you create another partition you can use WBFS manager on your pc to manage your .isos.

Are you plugging your USB into the usb port on the bottom (if your Wii is laying down flat)?

The issue is not when connecting to my pc or using wbfs manager. The issue is when connecting the drive to the wii console. And yes it is using the right port....I just connected it and now it works.

As I said it randomly decides not to work
