    Question Unable to install bootmii

Hi, ok I have been running backups for some time now and decided that maybe I should install bootmii and make a backup of my wii.

Now, when I got to install it, I get the error message that it is unable to install because it was not able to find a vulnerable IOS.

Any suggestions? Running v4.1 system menu, HBC installed (which will also not update due to the vulnerable IOS error message).

Yes, and thanks for the link - guess I didn't enter the right words into the search engine. %)

But, this also brings up another question, I have no real ideal what version of cCorp is install on my Wii, can I simply use the lastest uninstall to remove it?

I followed the link and everything worked, but I can only install the bootmii as an ISO and from what I have been reading it is not the prefered method.

thats right, on later wiis you can oly install as an IOS instead of ideally BOOT2

there is an uninstaller with cCorp or using that guide i linked to and using IOS36-64-v1042.wad and CIOS36.wad, you can overcome the "there's no vulnerable IOS" problem

    Question

before I get too carried away and may have been mistaken about cCorp.

When I turn the Wii on, a menu comes up and in the lower right hand corner it says preloader 0.29. Is this cCorp? If not, how do I remove this (basically return my boot1 back to some sort of original form so I can install bootmii)?

    thanks

okay if your not sure you probably dont have it, preloader can be removed by any title deleter or by reinstalling the system menu

to install bootmii BootMii.org Go to Wii Options, then go to Data Management > Channels > SD Card, then you will get a message saying "Load boot.elf?" , select 'Yes' and the Hackmii installer will run.

    Unhappy

Ok, the issue I am having now is bootmii will only be installed as an IOS (due to the boot1 files installed) - any way to fix this so I can install as a boot2?

its the only option on some (newer) wiis i'm afraid

but the good news is bootmii allows you to install the homebrew channel!
