N00b! Hi and can some one please guide me in the right direction!

Hey guys! I've got an older wii (from 2 yrs ago - will get model details shortly) I've ordered a DriveKey which should arrive today sometime, the wii Itself has never been online to run updates and the most recent game I have is about 1.5 yrs old.

I am hoping some one can give me a push in the right direction to get going with playing backups.

I am familiar with modding other consoles (self hard modded 3 Xbox 1's + PS1/2)
I'd admin I'm a bit overwhelmed with all of the wii modding info.

The Ideal Situation would be that I'd be able to back up my 20 or so bought games to a 500GB HDD and be able to add new one to the drive.

What is the most hastle free way of doing this?

    Thanks in advance!
    BRAD

Well in my siggy you can find the appropriate guide for soft modding the console [your gonna need to get homebrew in order to play with backup loaders]

Then you can visit this link:

    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...sb-loader.html

And that will explain how you would go about formatting a drive and setting up a backup loader to read from said drive.

So my DriveKey just arrived, will install it after work.

so far it looks as I need to install the DriveKey (as per usual mod instructions)

Softmod as per your sig link

and then the HDD workings as per your given link. - on the HDD toutorials, how is the method described in your provided link different from this one:
    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...s-usb-hdd.html

is either of them better than the other?

    Thanks Again

The one that gen3sf wrote is just a more in depth tutorial on the working of HDD Loaders and how to prepare your HDD for use. Please if i've helped don't just say thanks, hit that little thanks button

I've gotten everything running now without a hitch, copied my whole collection over to the HDD, and they all load without a problem! Thanks heaps for the help.

I havent found any clear cut documentation on system menu distribution so I only have to assume that my logic is correct - does EUR also cover Australia?
