    Venturing into the Wii arena

    Hi Folks

Great to have been found this site.

Have just gotten into the Wii environment with my 1st purchase but will need alot of assistance from you all, and from this forum to some of the ventures I am about to start with this new requistion.

Things that I intend to do:
    1. Soft or Hard mod on my Wii LU7018XXXX running on 4.1U
    2. getting it to run backup from HDD and/or HD
    3. Change the casing to black
    4. running homebrew
    5. etc, etc : )

Hope will find the above to try it out on the Wii without bricking it. All advice will be most welcomed : )

    Cheers

Almost all your wishes can be granted by carefully reading the 3-4.1 guide below. Just read and understand, ask questions if necessary before doing anything. Not sure about the black casing, but it will probably void your warranty.

Thanks mate for the introduction of the relevant thread

Just still a little gittery as not many have assured that the new Wii with s/no U7018XXXX will not brick. Most mods only assures up to LU64

As far as anyone can tell you it will not brick so long as you follow every step of the guide in the proper order. There are no guarantees for anyone of course, but brick usually only happen do to carelessness and stupidity. If you loss power at the wrong time during modding, you could brick, or if you loss internet at the wrong time. But that is rare, just don't downgrade your wii and you should be as safe as you can be. And be sure to read and ask questions should you get stuck, don't try to wing it.
