Just installed homebrew channel
Hi i have just installed the homebrew channel but i am a little confused about a few things, i have searched like mad to find answers but no good,
Sorry if these are stupid questions.
firstly when i start the channel it askes me to update which i do then it restarts. if i then restart the wii it askes me again if i want to update it doesent seem to store the update.
Also if i install any apps for eg. mplayer where does it go. Do i need to keep a SD card in the slot cos without it my home brew channel has nothing in it..
and just askes me to update every time i go to channel.
I do have the drive key installed will this have an adverse effect on the apps.
Thank you in advance,
as stated i have just found out about the channel and am just getting started,
Also i installed the channel from sd card without the zelda game
well firstly yes you want to keep your SD card in the Wii at all times if you want apps to load up in the homebrew channel. You can do the homebrew update [it will look just like when you do the bootmii install] just choose HBC again and install. Make sure internet connection is on to do this. Turn WiiConnect24 OFF. After you get all that going, you may want to look into something called "HomeBrew Browser", download it and put it in your "app" section of your SD card. It's a great all-in-1 package for downloading HomeBrew apps directly from the internet to your SD card.
Thanks Sour your advice is good, i have downloaded the browser and its a nice bit of software, i think i understand the concept a little more now.
Just starting to play with this channel now, just getting my head around what all the terminology means and what does what.
Thanks again ..
