    Smile help a newbie???

Hello, i got a weird problem here! Please dont flame me, i am really green with the wii software side of things so here goes....

I got a PAL wii from my mates mum that has been updated to 4.2e.
It has a genuine wiikey2 drivechip.
It plays some backups but not others.
It plays scooby doo but wont play Mario Kart, both are pal I believe. Mario Kart is 100% pal, and isn't patched etc or scrubbed.

I usually keep Mario Kart to test on consoles etc.
I noticed that the wii has got 2x news and 2x forcast channels - could this be something to do with it?
I really appreciate any feedback I get from you guys.

Duplicate channels is a symptom of an out of region system menu has been installed at some stage in the past.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

thanks for the reply Tealc, do you think this could be why it dont play the games? It only started after the latest update went on via wifi.

It's either that or a strange coincidence.

4.2 has been bricking Wiis all over the world, you are lucky in that it's only semi semi bricked.

I'm not up to speed with 4.2 and it's solutions but it might be worth you looking over our 4.2 tutorials for people in the same situation as you.
